What is Aberdeen 250?
Aberdeen 250 is Aberdeen, Maryland’s local celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, honoring the nation’s founding while highlighting Aberdeen’s unique place in Maryland's and American history. As communities across the country mark this historic milestone, Aberdeen 250 connects national and state history with local stories, people, and places that reflect the values of independence, service and civic pride.
Through community events, educational programs, historical presentations, and local business spotlights, Aberdeen 250 celebrates how Aberdeen has contributed to the American story—from its early roots and military heritage to its ongoing role in innovation and public service. This initiative invites residents, visitors, and future generations to reflect on where we’ve been, celebrate who we are, and help shape the next chapters of Aberdeen, Maryland and America.
